Cleveland's 'Dimebag Birthday Bash' Scheduled For This Weekend

According to FreeTimes.com, a horde of Cleveland metal bands, likely all of them in some way touched by the influential music of PANTERA, pay tribute to the band's late guitarist "Dimebag Darrell" Abbott, at Dimebag's Birthday Bash at Peabody's (2083 E. 21st St., 216.776.9999) in Cleveland, with doors at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 18. The guitarist, whose actual birthday was August 20, was shot to death by an audience member while performing with his post-PANTERA band DAMAGEPLAN at Columbus' Alrosa Villa three years ago. Bands playing include GIRTH, BLACK TOOTH SIN, K PHIT, MORALITY CHECK, VOLUME DEALER, MODF, CHEMICAL MARRIAGE, DEVOLUTION and HATECORE INC. Admission: $6.
